Thanks for this thoughtful piece, Mary. I am SO with you! I've many regrets over squelched replies, lack of understanding, awareness of systemic racism already in the '50s, yet accepting the status quo. An example of implicit racism deeply embedded in the mindset of most white people in my country.

Yes. The last few years have really opened my eyes to how very deep and pervasive it is in the denomination I know and love. and well as elsewhere in the church. I'm trying to live without those regrets now. No more smoothing things over.
