I'm the old Mom on the cusp of doing the same thing - not dying, but needing to leave my old city home of 45 years with it's lovely front porch and millions of memories. My kids and grands will also bear the brunt of clearing it out. It makes me happy to know they too will share the joy and nostalgia you describe so well!
