April Snow Day

Snow in the morning. Sun in the afternoon. And this little poem somewhere along the way. Enjoy!

Snow Day Bouquet of 4/10/20 ~ Photo by Author

~ April Snow Day ~

Yesterday I stepped outside to toss the garbage

and noticed my scraggly forsythia with wildly flailing

branches in sore need of trimming. I clipped a few and

threw them in a pot with a couple daffodils already there

Today the world is spread with snow again

all is grayish white outside the kitchen window

dark clouds casting shadows on this cold April day

yet on my table stands a beautiful bouquet of sunshine

Dear JoMae Spoelhof, how delightfully prescient your harvesting of sunshine was to warm a day of unlikely winter. Trusting us and ours to hope, health, happiness and harmony.
